Norbu Homestay is a family-owned homestay established in 2023 in the peaceful village of Skampuk, Nubra. Managed by Tsewang Spalzes, an active farmer, the homestay offers travellers a warm and authentic opportunity to experience rural Ladakhi life, local culture, traditional food, and the tranquillity of the Nubra Valley. The homestay has two guest rooms, each approximately 12 × 12 sq. ft., with comfortable furnishings and a clean guest bathroom providing both hot and cold water. Guests can also enjoy a dedicated dining area, free parking, regular electricity, and solar lanterns as backup lighting. During the colder months, the property uses a Bukhari and heater for warmth and remains operational throughout winter.A stay at Norbu Homestay provides more than comfortable accommodation. Guests can experience the family's agricultural lifestyle through the kitchen garden, farming activities, livestock, and local food traditions. The family also practices needle felting, allowing visitors to gain an insight into traditional local handicrafts. Guests can enjoy both local and other cuisines, with traditional Ladakhi food available on request. The host is also willing to involve visitors in everyday village activities, farming, handicrafts, and local cultural experiences.
