Valley View Homestay is a family-owned homestay located in the peaceful village of Skampuk, Nubra, surrounded by dramatic Himalayan landscapes and the natural beauty of Ladakh. Established in 2023, the homestay offers travelers a comfortable base from which to experience the quieter and more authentic side of Nubra Valley. The property features two well-furnished guest rooms, each approximately 12 × 13 sq. ft., along with a dining area, guest bathroom facilities with hot and cold water, free parking, regular electricity, and winter heating through a traditional Bukhari and heater. Solar lanterns are available as a backup during power cuts. Guests can enjoy vegetarian meals and traditional Ladakhi cuisine, prepared with fresh local ingredients. The family’s kitchen garden and agricultural activities provide an opportunity to experience local farming practices and understand the connection between food, land, and village life. The homestay is approximately 400 metres from the main road and around 7 km from the local market, while nearby attractions include gonpas, waterfalls, trekking opportunities, and scenic village landscapes. Hunder and the surrounding Nubra region also offer opportunities for further exploration.

Dorje Palmo, the owner of Valley View Homestay in Skampuk Village, Nubra, is a farmer who has embraced homestay tourism as a way to share her home, culture, and way of life with visitors. Established in 2023, Valley View is an existing and operational homestay that welcomes travelers looking to experience the peaceful surroundings and authentic lifestyle of rural Ladakh. Coming from a farming background, Dorje Palmo continues to be actively involved in agriculture and maintains a kitchen garden at home. Her connection with farming allows guests to experience more than just accommodation—they can get a glimpse into the everyday life, traditions, and practices of a Ladakhi farming family. The family also practices needle felting, providing an opportunity to introduce visitors to traditional local skills and handicrafts.
