Turtuk Village has a rich history as part of the Baltistan region and was under Pakistani administration until 1971, when it became part of India after the Indo-Pakistani War. Once an important stop on the ancient Silk Route, Turtuk preserves its unique Balti heritage, traditional architecture, and centuries-old customs, offering visitors a glimpse into its remarkable past.
