Surrounded by the natural beauty and quiet rhythm of Ladakhi village life, the homestay is being prepared to welcome travellers seeking an authentic and comfortable stay. The homestay offers two well-furnished guest rooms, a dining area, free parking, regular electricity, and bathrooms with hot and cold water. Traditional heating options, including a Bukhari, heater, and local chula, provide warmth during the colder months. Guests can enjoy vegetarian home-style meals, with Nima also willing to introduce visitors to traditional Ladakhi cuisine.

Welcome to Thakskan Homestay, a newly built homestay in the picturesque village of Gya, Kharu. The homestay is owned by Nima Dolma, whose life is rooted in the local community and the traditional livelihoods of Ladakh. Established in 2022, Thakskan Homestay represents Nima’s effort to create a welcoming space where travellers can experience the peaceful surroundings and everyday life of a Ladakhi village. Nima works as a labourer and is also involved in agriculture, which together form the main sources of livelihood for the family. Although Thakskan Homestay is not yet operational, the newly built property is being prepared to welcome guests. Nima has already received training in hospitality, building a foundation for providing guests with a comfortable and friendly stay. The family is particularly interested in developing skills in guest handling, cooking, and traditional local cuisine so that visitors can experience the warmth and flavours of Ladakhi life.
